Figurative Sculpture

Picture

The human figure has intrigued me from childhood.  I love facial expression and body gesture. The materials that I use to sculpt range from APOXIE sculpt, Polymer clays, Paperclay. The figures all have wire armatures enveloped in a soft sculpted body.

Commissioned Work

Here are just a few examples of commissioned portraits  or ideas that I have produced for people!
Joe the Golfer
Tom's Parents — Tom wanted a sculpture depicting his parents and
I depicted them looking at an article about Tom and his business in the newspaper they are holding.
The Baseball Player — just happens to be 6' 2" tall.
Denise dancing at her mother's wedding
Kawika

Figments of my imagination:

Grandpa. . . . . . got a big surprise when he went to get the paper! There is a skunk behind the flower pot.

Bob is amazed at the amount of cotton that comes with those expensive prescription pills!
An Old World Santa
"Ask Me About My Grandkids!"  And that is just what is written across the back of this fellow's tee shirt!
The Snake Handler
Cerredwin, the Crone. . . . also known as the wrinkle fairie!
Wizzard's Fire
Meowser — an animated gift for my daughter. The cat turns her head and her tail as she moves the bow across the strings — all to the tune of  the music box sound of Memories.

Working figures depicting the 1800's:

Camp Cook is waving for the men to come in for dinner
The Spinner
The Blacksmith
The Nipper -
In the age of sail, orphaned boys were employed to to the tedious duty of tying a smaller rope
from the messenger cable to the ship's much larger anchor line.
